Race Day Information & Updates
April 2025
Calling all previous Fighting Fentanyl 5K runners, walkers, and supporters! Can you believe it’s that time again?
Registration is open and we would love to have you join us again this year!
(May 21st is the deadline to make sure you get a race shirt in the size you need)

This year we have a TEAM option! This is a great way to get your friends and family involved. Team Captains can "create a team" during the registration process and then team members have the option to "join a team" using selections offered in a drop-down box. It's that easy!
As we prepare for our 4th annual Fighting Fentanyl 5K, we always want to reflect on the reasons we do this. First and foremost, we want Cooper’s legacy to be one that continues to save lives through raising awareness and providing education around the dangers of illegally made fentanyl and fake pills.

Secondly, our event continues to raise funds that are used to finance a county (and state) wide paid social media campaign in partnership with the Johnson County Prevention and Recovery Coalition. We are thrilled to report that from March – December 2024, our ads were on screens over 9 million times! Your support is what makes this possible and together we are saving lives and keeping families intact. As we speak, new content is being created so that we can continue the campaign through 2025.

Last, and certainly not least, you can expect updated information and education on the current trends around illegally manufactured fentanyl. This event is more important now than ever before. For the second year in a row, CDC shows that Kansas leads the nation in fentanyl related deaths per capita for ages 15-19. Our teenagers and young adults have become collateral damage to this epidemic and awareness is the number one defense.
This is information every family needs to stay safe, so please invite other families you know and love to join you for this fun and important event!
Be sure to grab a special complimentary bib to let everyone know who YOU are fighting for! And, of course, we will have a special tribute for our loved ones who have been lost to fentanyl poisoning prior to the start of the race.
We look forward to a powerful day of exercise and education,
The Fighting Fentanyl 5K Race Committee
