The DEA seized 59.6 million pills in 2022 and 78.4 million pills in 2023. Testing revealed that more than 99% of them were fake and made with illicit fentanyl. A fatal dose of fentanyl is small enough to fit on the tip of a pencil and some of these pills have enough fentanyl to kill multiple people. These fake pills are being sold to our children on social media apps like Snapchat.
